He laughs through the window
She screams and cries at shadows

She lashes and scratches

Leaving the pain to him forever

I love the rhyming pattern and the rhythm and the wordplay. Tell your friend it definitely does not suck, in fact, it's lovely! She has the makings of a great poet.
